* with HDR for me it's always a trade off between keeping as much DR as I can but still having a contrasty image. That's one reason I let the sun light "burn" some areas even thought I had dark exposures with details there
* I do not have Photomatix. All HDR done with CS5 (which is better than CS4) and my "patented" manual method :o)
* I've used a very light touch of Topaz Adjust for colour and contrast boosts, but very lightly applied
* I took arounf 5 to 9 exposures for each shot and removed the overlapping ones. Generally the finished shots are HDR mergers out of 3 to 5 exposures
* in those kind of scenery you NEED a tripod for proper HDR... no way around it!
* I checked the forecast, but I went and prayed on the way :o) that was actually the 2nd attempt as the 1st one 1 weekend earlier had failed miserably...
* the 1st shot in the album has a complex history :o) I did my usual HDR work, but one of the exposures looked almost perfect in its own, so I developed that one too as single shot. Then I compared them and decided I liked different parts of each so I merged them selectively with a mask and got what you see here
